Abide Student Ministry, the ministry to Jr. High and High Schoolers at La Crescenta Presbyterian Church, is passionate about helping students navigate the difficulties and incredible joys that come with following Jesus and living life in 2020. We believe that every student is deeply loved by Jesus and has a place in His heart, regardless of race, background, orientation or status. Every student who walks through our doors is loved, accepted, and wanted. Mo matter who you are, you have a place at abide- a place to be here, be real and be bold.

Current In-Person Gatherings


We are currently holding all of our in person meetings at Montrose Community Park. Our schedule is: High School Sports on Tuesday afternoons from 5-6:30pm Jr. High Abide from 6-7:30pm High School Abide from 6-7:30pm All are welcome to join us at their age-appropriate gathering!




Adult-Student Communication Policy


Students may be contacted through text, email, designated social media accounts (such as Instagram or Facebook) or phone calls by student ministry staff and volunteers with student consent or initiation for the purposes of inviting students to events, providing information about Student Ministries, providing counseling to students, and checking in. Under no circumstances may text messages or emails between a student ministry staff and volunteers and a student be deleted. LCPC Staff and Committees responsible for oversight may at any time require access to private correspondence between student ministry staff and volunteers and students. All communication between student ministry staff and volunteers and youth in 7th-8th grade (Jr. High) should be made between the hours of 8am-10pm. All communication between student ministry staff and volunteers and youth in 9th-12th grade (High School) should be made between the hours of 6am-12am, recognizing that occasionally a student may require correspondence outside of the aforementioned timeframe. Student ministry staff and volunteers may under no circumstances request that children or students send pictures of themselves electronically and may under no circumstances send pictures of themselves to children or students electronically.

Director of Student Ministry
Josh is from Redlands, CA and is the oldest of 5 brothers. He loves being outdoors and riding his bike throughout LA's sprawling coffee scene with his fiancé Kristin, who works at CFC and whom he met at one of his favorite places in the world, Mount Hermon. Josh is deeply passionate about being a consistent presence in the lives of teenagers and helping them to understand God's deep love for them.

Austin Granier
Assistant Director of Student Ministry
Austin grew up in La Crescenta and at LCPC and just finished his degree at The Master’s University in Biblical Exposition. Austin loves being with close friends, backpacking, and admiring his Fantasy Football Championship Trophy (which he has won 3 straight years). Austin joyfully serves in student min. because he's determined to show students the grace and mercy that he experiences everyday from a good, loving God.
