Adult Ministry

Christ gave some to be apostles, some to be prophets, some to be evangelists, and some to be pastors and teachers, to prepare God's people for works of service, so that the body of Christ may be built up until we all reach unity in the faith and in the knowledge of the Son of God and become mature, attaining to the whole measure of the fullness of Christ.

Ephesians 4:11-13

In adult ministry, our aim is to help every member of the congregation experience the love of God and mature in their relationship to Jesus- becoming more like Him each day. As we mature, the Holy Spirit empowers and send us out to make God's love known in our community. Each follower of Jesus uses their own unique giftedness to serve alongside others to bring glory and honor to God. Jesus called us his disciples. Jesus not only makes it possible for us to know the love of God, but He also teaches us how to live in that love. Adult Ministry offers opportunities to learn how to grow in our faith, use our gifts, build one another up, and help others know the love of God.

Tuesday Morning Bible Study

Pastor Yousef offers a Bible Study Class every Tuesday at 11:00 a.m. The Class meets in Koopmans Hall and this Fall, we are looking at the Psalms of Ascent (Psalms 120-134).  These are the songs the pilgrims sang as they traveled up to Jerusalem.

As we journey toward the “Heavenly Jerusalem” we can draw so much strength, courage and wisdom from those songs. Sign-up sheets are available at the Connection Center in the Narthex, in the chapel and in the church office if you’re interested in attending. If you have any questions, please reach out to Dr. Yousef.

Men's Ministry

Our Tuesday night Men's group meets every week at 7pm in room 203. Contact Mark Williams, (818) 333-6327, or email m_e_williams@sbcglobal.net.

Our Wednesday morning Men’s Ministry Group is called “Be a Disciple, Make a Disciple” Men of all ages are invited to join via Zoom from 6:30-7:30am. Contact Phil Van Horn at 818-517-5880 for the Zoom link and more information.

Join us every Saturday morning at Deukmejian Wilderness Park at 7:00 a.m. We take a short (moderately strenuous) hike, have a time of devotion and prayer, and then hike back down. We are usually finished by 9:00 a.m. We’d love to see you there.

Women's Ministry

Be Still is our ministry for women of all ages who seek a restful experience with Jesus through Bible study and contemplative prayer. We gather each Saturday morning to pray for one another, for our world and for the Kingdom, and to study Scripture, guided by books selected by the group. Be Still begins at 7:30 a.m. in Room 203 and wraps up between 9 and 9:30. All women of the church are welcome to join us on any Saturday and stay as long as they like. For more information, please contact Mary Braswell at marybraswell818@gmail.com.

Special events aimed at deepening connections among the women of LCPC are always taking place throughout the year. Keep an eye on the LCPC Events page to learn about the next gathering!

Mouris Yousef
Senior Pastor & Head of Staff

Dr. Yousef was born and raised in Egypt to godly parents whose faith in a God who is real, present and active was unshakeable. Having been raised in a home where faith was taught and lived, Mouris, by the grace of God, experienced from his childhood the power of God’s redeeming love. That journey of embracing the amazing grace of God continued through his youth and adult years and resulted in leading Mouris to Seminary, where he graduated in 1993 with a Master’s of Divinity at the Evangelical Theological Seminary in Cairo, Egypt.

In 1994, Mouris was ordained as a Minister of Word and Sacraments by the Egyptian Presbyterian Church. Mouris and his family have been in the USA since 2002. In the United States, Mouris earned a Master’s of Arts in Theological Studies from New Brunswick Theological Seminary, NJ, a Master’s of Sacred Theology and a Doctor’s of Ministry at the Pittsburgh Theological Seminary, PA. Before coming to serve as Senior Pastor & Head of Staff of the La Crescenta Presbyterian Church, Mouris has served congregations in Egypt, Kuwait, and New Jersey.

Mouris is married to Margaret Yousef and they both have two college children, Moshier and Miral. Mouris is so passionate about God’s Kingdom and how God’s people can be involved in the growing Kingdom of Christ. He enjoys seeing God’s children growing up in their faith and taking their discipleship to the next level. In his free time, Mouris loves spending time with his family, gardening and reading a good book.
