9:00 AM Contemporary Service
Being a "come as you are" church, expect to see people wearing jeans, shorts, dresses, dress pants, polo shirts or t-shirts for this “dress code” free service. The worship typically consists of contemporary praise music, multi-media presentations, Bible readings, and a message delivered from our pastor.
11:00 AM Traditional Service
This service maintains a traditional atmosphere, praising God through the use of hymns, praise songs, and classical music performed by our Cathedral Choir, piano, organ, and Cathedral Bell Choir. Children also benefit from a special message before being dismissed for Kid’s Church. This service includes music, multi-media presentations, Bible readings, and a message delivered from our pastor.
If you have an infant, you are welcome to drop him or her off in the nursery with our two, highly qualified care givers. We also have a parent-child room in the upper level of the sanctuary if you would like to watch the service with your baby. Children ages 3 and up begin church in the sanctuary and are dismissed to their programs about ten minutes into the service. Elementary aged children may take the indoor stairs down to Koopmans Hall for our large group FISH program. Pre-schoolers and kindergarteners are walked down to room 104 by a parent or guardian. We require all children to be signed out for safety reasons following the service.
After our 9 AM service you are encouraged to socialize with our church family. You will also find that our Fellowship Committee offers up cookies and refreshments in the breezeway.
We offer communion on the first Sunday of the month. All who seek the grace of the Lord Jesus Christ are invited to participate in this sacrament. Each service does communion a little differently. In first service, we have servers up front on each side of the sanctuary. All who would like to partake in communion come down the center aisle and go to either side. You will pull off a piece of bread, and dip it in the juice. You can eat the bread after you have dipped it. We have a gluten free option available as well. You then return to your seat via the side aisles and can either pray, reflect, or sing with the band. If you are not able to get up, we have a team of servers who will serve communion to you in your seat, if you raise your hand.
In second service, you will remain seated, and the servers will come to you down the center aisle. You will take a piece of bread as the servers pass a tray down the pews. You will hold on to it, then the whole congregation will take the bread together. We have a gluten free option available as well. Next, a tray with cups of juice will be passed down the pews. You may drink the juice when you would like – it is not done in unison. You can place the empty juice cup in the holder in the pew in front of you.
